    Overcoming the Workforce Skills Gap

    Topic: Overcoming the Workforce Skills Gap

    This enlightening discussion, based on local labor market data, will provide information related to Iowa Skills Gap. We'll establish the impact of unemployment rates on skill development of Iowa workers, and offer solutions that will help you increase the skills of your workforce, including short term training opportunities, school-to-work pipelines and more.

    Todd Spencer, District Manager, Iowa Workforce Development Todd has worked for Iowa Workforce Development for over 7 years.  He currently directly supervises employment and training programs in 26 counties cover Western Iowa.  He also oversight of all Statewide training programs related to the Workforce Investment Act and Trade Adjustment Act.  He works directly with Regional Workforce Investment Boards in all areas of the state to help develop and implement regional employment strategies utilizing a variety of long and short term training plans.
