Mindfulness for an Effective Workplace, Ryan Allen and Meghan Nelson, Lumin Therapy, LLC

Mindfulness for an Effective Workplace  Our ideas about healthcare and wellness have revolutionized in the last decade. Issues have turned into political footballs. Costs are rising. Covered services are declining. The average family is paying over 20% of its monthly income for headaches, frustration, and confusion. We’re spending more and more and getting less and less. It touches all of us—individually, in our families, and in our workplaces. 8 out of 10 Americans report suffering from stress due to work. It doesn’t have to be this way. Companies and organizations have unique opportunities to not only increase their employees’ satisfaction, but also to decrease turnover, foster a sense of community, increase productivity, and reduce healthcare costs.

79% of American workers who participated in a recent study on the impact of mindfulness in the workplace reported an improvement in the ability to relax. If you are one of the 100 million Americans who report suffering from chronic pain or one of the 78% who report feeling overwhelmed with stress, your well-being may only be a breath away.

In this 90-minute session, Lumin Therapy will offer participants some simple take back to your desk and boardroom strategies on how to become healthier, happier, and more mindful in each of your moments throughout the day. We’ll present some workforce data on stress and productivity and illustrate how researchers and practitioners alike are finding real benefits in the practice of mindfulness, meditation, and yoga to enhance both our personal and professional lives.

Our time together won’t be all numbers and theories, though. We’ll also practice breathing and moving mindfully—for ourselves, our families, our organizations, and our world.

    Socks and shoes optional.
