Speaker: Nick Jasa President of One Source, The Background Check Company

Nick is the founder of One Source and has been with the company for 13 years. Starting in operations, Nick has worked in every position possible at One Source. Nick attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha and helped start Credit Union Financing out of Colorado. Working in finance was a great stepping stone to One Source as both credit financing and background checks are regulated by the same rules, the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Nick is a regular speaker at Local, State & National SHRM / School association conferences and routinely provides Ongoing Education credits for HR professionals to obtain or retain their PHR, SPHR, and other certifications.

Nick also enjoys discovering new places, trying new foods and talking about anything. A lover of the outdoors, he also finds happiness in outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and sports.

Topic: How and Why to Hire Criminals

Nick will discuss the ins and outs of safely and responsibly hiring criminals including the how, the when and the why. Criminals are a part of our society and employment is a necessary portion of their rehabilitation. Nick will guide us through examples of companies that are very successful and also hire criminals. He will explain how to create policies that safely introduce criminals into positions that are the correct fit for their different circumstances. Everyone should be able to achieve the dignity of earning a living to support themselves and their family. This presentation will show us how to responsibly help people achieve that through our own organizations.
