    Speaker: Abdullahi Urur, Trainer, Tyson

    Abdullahi Urur is a trainer at Tyson in South Sioux City., NE. As an immigrant from Somalia, he has first-hand experience on learning the customs in the United States while building his life here. Abdullahi brings a different perspective to the HR professionals in the Siouxland area.

    Topic: Diversity in the Workplace

    The objective of the Diversity in the Workplace session is to bring a great understanding to HR professionals and employers in Siouxland on how to understand the needs of our employees who have immigrated from other areas and how to create a work environment that will help our employees succeed. The program begins with three educational videos as recommended by Amy Chabra, the Executive Director of the Mary Treglia House. Next we will have Abdullahi Urur speak to us about the cultural needs of immigrants and what we can do as employers to help make them successful. He will end his discussion with Q & A.

    Credits: 1.5 HRCI Continuing Education Units and 1.5 SHRM Professional Development Credits approved
